Late October 2024 marked the beginning of one of the biggest renovation projects we have undertaken at camp. The goal was simple — improve the overall experience for our hunting safari clients while keeping the authentic bush atmosphere that makes time spent in the African wilderness so special.
The first phase focused on completing the new luxury safari tents before the festive season break. By mid-December the team had pushed hard to finish the tents, giving us a solid foundation before work resumed again in the new year.
Once the tents were complete, attention shifted to the main lodge area. This phase included a large deck extension overlooking the river, new stacker windows to open up the lodge to the surrounding bushveld, as well as the addition of a curio shop and office space.
The timing added extra pressure to the project. Our first hunting safari group of 2025, arriving from Spain in early February, was already booked and counting down the days until their South African adventure began. Every member of the team understood what needed to be done, and the pace of work quickly intensified.
Long days were spent cutting timber, fitting flooring, building railings, and finishing interiors. As the final details came together, the camp began to take on a completely new feel while still retaining the warm, welcoming atmosphere our hunters have come to appreciate over the years.
The effort paid off. The entire renovation project was completed just two days before the arrival of our Spanish hunters. Seeing the finished deck, upgraded lodge spaces, and completed tents ready to welcome guests made all the hard work worthwhile.
These upgrades are another important step in continuing to offer an authentic yet comfortable hunting safari experience in South Africa. We are incredibly proud of what the team achieved in such a short period of time and excited to welcome future hunters to enjoy the camp and everything the African bush has to offer.
